Ministry Philosophy 4: Moving the Church out into the world

• It is too easy for Christians to attend church on Sunday and that is all their faith consists of.
• We need to meet and teach people in real-world settings.
• The best is to meet 1-1 or with small groups in cafes and community spaces (even better than homes).
• Model to others interacting with the cafe staff- let them know what you are doing in a positive way, and seek to build caring relationships.
• Visit welfare groups together to find out community needs and how you can help.
• Visit social groups together that you can both engage in, eg a local history group, craft group, chess club, sporting event, etc.
• Imitate Christ who was often out in the marketplace, visible and accessible for people. He went to where people were.
• As you enter an area, pray to the Holy Spirit to guide you who to speak to and what to say.
